Positive Pressure
Ventilation

Positive Pressure Systems are suitable for most homes; particularly where timber and older aluminium joinery allows for good air circulation.

How it works

A Smart Vent Positive Pressure system draws fresh, drier air from the roof space or from outside and passes it through a medical-grade filter before gently distributing it around the home via diffusers set in the ceiling.

In with the good, out with the bad

This process positively pressurises your home, forcing out moist stale air through gaps in windows and doors or through special exhaust vents. Continually cycling your home with fresh, dry air removes air borne toxins, harmful pollutants, dust and dust mites.

Our Superior Filtration

Superior, medical grade F7 filtration traps up to 90% of pollens, dust and allergens. This filtered air is distributed into each room via unique acoustic insulated ducting, which reduces fan and airflow noise. Moist air is forced out around windows and doors, making your home drier, which makes it is easier to heat.

  • Fresh air is taken from outside (if a summer feature is installed) or warmer, drier air is taken from the roof cavity
  • The air is passed through a high efficiency F7 filter
  • The air is pushed into the home using a high quality fan
  • The air is gently distributed into your home via ceiling diffusers
  • The moisture laden air is forced out around doors and windows
Experts recommend Smart Vent

Intelligent Control System

Drawing air from the roof cavity, outside or even from your lounge in Heat Transfer mode (if installed), Smart Vent will choose the warmest air in winter and the coolest air in summer providing a complete year round ventilation solution.

Special Features

Future Proofed Upgrades

Smart Vent Positive is fully future-proofed so any of our upgrades can be added simply and easily into your existing system.

Intelligent Controller

The smartest component of the system is the stylish Smart Vent controller. Choose a colour touch screen or an LCD display digital controller. The easy to use, fully automated controllers work to maintain your comfort. All you need to do is enter your preferred temperature levels and Smart Vent will do the rest.

Superior Multi-speed Fans

High quality multi-speed fans for optimum airflow ventilation in the home that cost as little as 10c per day* to run. *Based on a 17c per kW/hr electricity cost and subject to consumer settings and fan speed selected.

Medical-grade Filtration

The high quality F7 filter captures 80 - 90% of 0.4 micron particles including dust, pollens, allergens and mould spores.

Whisper Quiet Running

The unique acoustic insulated ducting used in all Smart Vent Positive systems ensures ‘whisper quiet’ air transfer and better air temperature retention.

Low Profile Diffusers

Stylish flat diffusers inset in your ceiling for an unobtrusive look are fully adjustable for balanced airflow into each room.

Optional Extras

Heat Transfer Kit distribute the heat

The heat transfer upgrade makes better use of your heating in winter. In this mode excess heat from the heat source room is transferred to other rooms in your home.

Summer Feature extra ventilation

A summer feature is highly recommended for superior ventilation during the hot summer months. Hot, muggy evenings will no longer keep you awake as cooler fresher air is continuously distributed around your home.

Tempering Heater inline warmth

By using a tempering heater you can increase the warmth to take the chill off cooler incoming air in winter.

Extension Kit adding more outlets

A Smart Vent extension kit gives you the flexibility to add additional outlet/s to your Smart Vent system. By adding additional outlets to your system you are simply dividing the available air amongst more rooms.

Synergy True Heat
Recovery Ventilation

Synergy Heat Recovery has all of the features of Smart Vent Positive plus it recovers and re- uses up to 90% of your paid heat; ideal for modern airtight homes needing healthier air circulation.

How it works

A Smart Vent Synergy True Heat Recovery system will use the warm air you have paid for, say to heat the lounge, pass it through an advanced heat recovery converter and warm the fresh dry air from outside before moving it to rooms that need it most.

Our HRV Difference

Our Heat Recovery Ventilation system is very different from other HRV systems. Firstly, it’s balanced; capable of extracting stale, moisture-laden air from inside your home and bringing in fresh drier air simultaneously.

Reuse up to 90% of your Heat

Secondly, and best of all, Synergy is a true heat recovery system that recovers and reuses up to 90% of the heat from the warm air extracted from your home. Open fires, gas fires*, wood burners, heat pumps and most other heating appliances are all suitable for use with Synergy.

*Where gas appliances are used for the main heat source, please refer to the installation company for advice.

Combined with a Heat Pump

Heat pumps are one of the most common heat sources used in New Zealand. Nearly all heat pumps only re-circulate the existing moist air in a home, but do not bring in fresh dry air. This results in a build-up of moisture in the home. For this reason the combination of a heat pump and Synergy is a very effective total home heating and ventilation system. Synergy can also re-use cold air from air conditioners for a cool recovery solution in hot summer months.

  • Fresh air is supplied from outside
  • Moist, stale air is extracted from inside the home
  • Warm, dry air is supplied into your home
  • Moist, stale air is expelled out of the home

Special Features

Intelligent Controller

Positioned in your heated room (usually the lounge) the colour touch screen controller is included with every Smart Vent Synergy and offers state-of-the-art technology with real time readings for total system control at your fingertips.

Medical-grade Filtration

The high quality F7 filter will captures 80 - 90% of 0.4 micron particles including dust, pollens, allergens and mould spores.

Polymer Heat Exchange Core

Unlike paper cores, Synergy’s polymer core is better suited to New Zealand climatic conditions. With no moisture transfer between incoming and outgoing air, humidity is reduced. Synergy cores are tested at 90% efficiency to European Standard EN308.

Whisper Quiet Running

The unique acoustic insulated ducting used in all Smart Vent Synergy systems ensures ‘whisper quiet’ air transfer and better air temperature retention.

Low Profile Diffusers

Stylish flat diffusers inset in your ceiling for an unobtrusive look are fully adjustable for balanced airflow into each room.

Stunning NZ Results

In an actual New Zealand installation the following results have been achieved. The air inside the home was 24º degrees and heated by an open fire. The air outside was 7º degrees. Normally you would have to continuously heat the incoming air by 17º degrees to replace the lost heat.

Using Synergy, the fresh incoming air is already being warmed to 22º degrees. Therefore the incoming air only needs to be heated by a further 2º degrees to maintain a comfortable and healthy temperature. As a result this home is continuously ventilated with minimal heat loss.

Note: Results can vary from this example due to a number of factors. Your Smart Vent Consultant can give further details.

Optional Extras

Second Source Air cleverly select source

The second source feature can cleverly select the most effective fresh air source, either from the roof space or outside.

Core By-pass Divertor great summer feature

The core by-pass feature diverts fresh filtered air around the heat exchange process. This is useful in summer when the outside temperature is lower than the inside and you do not want to warm the incoming air.

Heat Boost Kit extra heating

The heat boost feature allows you to make even better use of your existing heating in winter. This feature is only effective in certain applications.

Tempering Heater increase the warmth

By using a tempering heater you can further increase the warmth to take the chill off cold incoming air in winter.
